NBCUniversal Upfront 2016
Show Works was thrilled to once again be part of creating the awesome NBCUniversal Upfront for 2016 – and this year the theme was “NCBU Takes Africa to the Races”! Hosted at the gorgeous Tintswalo Lodge overlooking the polo field, guests were treated to a Day at the Races – NBCU style!
On arrival, guests enjoyed Pims cocktails, wine lollies, and fed apples to elegant Lipizzaner horses at the entrance, resplendent in their branded horse blankets and purple socks. At registration guests each chose a brightly coloured race day hat, and were handed their racing booklets and branded NBCU dollars.
Organic Lounge provided jazzy background music and canapes and drinks were served, as well as desserts by our Cake Pop Queen and Macaroon Queen.
Four channel themed horse races were custom created, with horses, jockeys and owners linked to shows and programming on the channel, and after the content presentation, guests were invited to place their bets on the races with the Betting Master and team of bookies!
Guests went wild and had great fun placing bets, pooling money into betting syndicates, and cheering for their horse in the race. Winners collected their winnings and had fun grabbing awesome spot prizes and money from the air blower. The person with the afternoon’s highest combined winnings walked away with a 50” Samsung TV!
We loved this event – it was a unique and different concept, and it was great to see the guests really getting involved and excited about the interaction – and now we certainly know a whole lot about the world of horses and racing than we did before!
