PICK N PAY FRANCHISEE CONFERENCE – ZAMBIA
This year, the tri-annual Pick n Pay Franchisee conference was held in Zambia at the Royal Livingstone Hotel, and Show Works was thrilled to be tasked with creating and producing all the entertainment for this 3 day event.
Sourcing and producing exclusive entertainment acts, trucking totes of elaborate costumes and props, arranging travel arrangements for a team of 55 artists from across SA was all just a part of the fun, which culminated in an amazing series of events along the banks of the Zambezi, with the incredible Victoria Falls as the backdrop.
The Welcome Dinner was a stunning cocktail event, held on the lawns alongside the river, themed “A Night of White With a Touch of Pink”. A cellist, and exquisite ballerinas on plinths – in gorgeous original costumes designed by Niall Griffin – set the scene as the sun set over the river.
After dinner, well known SA super star Zahara took to the stage, and really got the guests grooving on the dancefloor.
The next day the conference began in earnest, and team Show Works was on hand to show call and stage manage, as well as assist with the partners social programme, including a Bollywood Dance class, and a Chocolate and Wine Pairing.
That evening, our Bollywood themed gala dinner was a great success – with henna tattoo artists and Bollywood dancers, followed by the ever popular Doctor Victor Band, who had the guests partying so hard, we were a little concerned the deck was going to break!
The last evening was the Gala Awards Evening, where top achievers were recognised. Gorgeous human tables served bubbly on the lawns during arrivals, before the elegant and sparkling affair hosted by our two MC’s Nik Rabinowitz and Tumi Morake, began. Once the formalities were over, the cast of the hit Barnyard Theatre production, 99 Hits, took to the stage.
